When a delivery fails, people usually look at the delivery.

When a warehouse rejects a product, they look at the warehouse.

When a carrier interface breaks, they look at the interface.

That is understandable. The visible problem sits there.

But in many logistics programmes, the real issue started much earlier. It started when one team understood a field one way, another team understood it differently, and nobody had a reliable place where the meaning, ownership and dependencies of that field were kept together.

This is the part of logistics transformation that is consistently underestimated.

The process may be well designed. The SAP configuration may be correct. The interface may be technically sound. The warehouse may be ready. Yet the operation still fails because the data model behind the process is fragmented.
